Ran's birthday was on a Sunday, so he took it easy. Also, Deb bought tickets to a wonderful live narration of a Japanese American documentary based on the Nikkei soldiers of World War II, "Defining Courage".
Award winning news anchor David Ono created an amazing stage show with live music, videos, and images from the war. His presentation was based on actual stories he heard from veterans and their families over the
years. At the conclusion he introduced local WWII Nikkei veterans to the audience, all in their 90's, to a roaring standing ovation. After the show, Deb and Ran headed home to meet with Jordyn and Connor
so they could go to dinner at Sizzling Lunch. This is fast becoming one of our favorite places to eat. Their rice dishes always hit the spot. As soon as they were done eating they headed home for presents and
a Baskin-Robbins Polar Pizza Birthday cake. Tyler Facetimed to join in on the festivities. Ran had the best day and won't soon forget it.
