In order to prepare the Cadettes for their Amaze Journey, troop leader Leslie Imai offered her Lake Tahoe cabin for the weekend so the girls could learn and work together to earn their Interact, Peacemaker, and Diplomat Awards. She along with Joy Watanabe and Deb took a bunch of girls up to the lake where they spent the Labor Day weekend learning about maintaining healthy relationships, overcoming obstacles, and creating better relationships. To that end, they discussed first impressions, stereotypes, peer pressure & gossiping, bullying, conflict resolution, and finally how to take what they've learned and apply it in the real world. It wasn't all work though, they also goofed around a lot, made meals together, and did some arts and crafts.

After a great deal of time and effort, Jordyn was presented with her Cadette Padma Award. This award is given after successfully completing 72 hours of Buddhist study over a 2 year period. She and good friend Erin are the first two Cadettes to receive this award in Troop #60736.

Also, Jordyn was one of two Cadettes to receive her Silver Award. The Silver Award is the highest award given to a Girl Scout Cadette and requires 50 hours of work toward a sustainable project that will benefit the community. Click here to read more.
