This was supposed to be the family vacation before Jordyn started her new job at Amazon. The plan was to go to Hawaii as sort of the final fling before heading off to work for the next 30 or so years. Fate was not kind, however, as the COVID pandemic made traveling to Hawaii difficult. Instead, we pivoted to a logistically easier vacation at Disneyland. This wasn't a bad idea since everyone was eager to check out the newly opened Avengers Campus in California Adventure. The Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride had gotten pretty good reviews so we wanted to give it a try. In the end it was a nice break from the routine, but we all still want to go to Hawaii soon.

The reason it's so bright is
because the ride broke.

On Sunday we started off in California Adventure first because Tyler got us in the virtual queue for Web Slingers in the morning. We bypassed the Avengers Campus at first because we heard everyone was going there to check it out as soon as the park opened. Turns out everyone must have gotten the same information because we found ourselves in Cars Land waiting nearly half an hour to get onto the Radiator Springs Racers ride. In the end it wasn't so bad. We probably would have had to wait even longer if we visited later in the day. Next, we ventured over to the Toy Story ride and the Incredicoaster. After that we made it over to the Avengers Campus to look around. While not as big as Galaxy's Edge there was still quite a bit to see and experience especially as this was our first time there. Just before 10:00am we got the update that our group could queue up for Web Slingers. Right before noon we found ourselves just outside the Ariel ride, so we found a nice out of the way spot to try and get in the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance in the afternoon. Tyler came through again, and this time he got us a 5:00pm timeslot in the virtual queue.

On our last day Tyler with his quick fingers got us into Group 6 for Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland! This meant we could probably get on the ride around 9:00am. Since we had about an hour to kill before we needed to be there we made good use of the time and rode Space Mountain, Astro Blasters, and Autopia. This last day was the hottest, and we needed to pace ourselves given all of our feet hurt from the previous two days of non-stop walking. To make matters worse, we think the parks were more crowded than the previous two days. This appeared to be true as whenever we looked for tables to eat there were none to be found. In the afternoon Dad was able to get us in the virtual queue for Web Slingers. This was fortuitous as both he and I ended up with the highest score of the hour!
