Tri-City G2 Blue

Beginning in September 2011, Jordyn began her first year in G2 basketball for Tri-City. This season finds Jordyn on a team with many skilled and talented players. She hopes to learn more while being on this team and further her basketball development.

CYS Tournament
11/12/11 - 11/13/11

The weekend of November 12, 2011, CYS hosted their annual Basketball Tournament. Jordyn's team was one of 3 Tri-City teams playing. They lost their first game to the Lady Warriors of CYS. However, they rebounded later in the afternoon to beat the Tri-City Silver team. On Sunday, Jordyn's team had to face the Enchantees of San Francisco to see who would take 3rd Place. As luck would have it, old friend Daniel's daughter Emma plays for the Enchantees. Daniel was good enough to share some outstanding photos he captured of the game. In the end, Jordyn's team beat the Enchantees capturing 3rd Place, and Ran got to catch up with an old buddy from way back.

Betsuin Tournament
3/3/12 - 3/4/12

Right after League ends, we always drive up on the first weekend of March to the Betsuin Tournament in Sacramento. After winning our first game in overtime against the Ardenettes of San Francisco, we lost our second game to the SJUMC Hot Shots of Sacramento. On Sunday, we beat our league champions the CYS Lady Warriors for Third Place. On Saturday night, though, we had a team dinner at the hotel where we got to hang out and just have fun. I don't know what's better, winning basketball games or just having fun with my teammates at the hotel.

SJUMC Tournament
3/17/12 - 3/18/12

Two weeks after Betsuin, we traveled back to Sacramento for the SJUMC Tournament. This is usually our last tournament of the season for the team to get together and hang out away from home. Just like at Betsuin we took 3rd place. We lost our first game to the Red Dragons of San Francisco but bounced back in our second game to beat the Ohtani team from Berkeley. In our third game on Sunday we had to play against the Tri-City White team. It was close at first but we pulled away to win in the second half. It's been a really fun season!

After the SJUMC Tournament in Sacramento, we thought Jordyn's basketball season was over. Little did we know she would be asked to help out the 7th Grade Girls Zebraettes team. The Zebraettes are a club team from San Jose with many skilled and talented basketball players. Due to scheduling conflicts and a rash of injuries, the Zebraettes were short-handed for the annual Dragons Tournament in San Francisco. Jordyn was asked if she could be an emergency substitute for these three games. Although she had little time to prepare, she jumped at the opportunity to be a Zebraette for a weekend!

Once summer began, playing organized basketball was going to be tough. The only thing to keep Jordyn's basketball skills from fading was to enroll her in as many basketball camps as we could. Tri-City always offers a summer clinic for a couple of hours a day once a week for about 5 weeks. Anything that could be done to complement this clinic could only help. Fortunately, we were told about a new girls basketball clinic being held at Mountain View High School for one week. Tri-City friends Cami, Cher, Misa, and Rachel all enrolled as well. It was a good week of basketball with some good friends.
