On Saturday, November 5, 2022 Jordyn, Connor, and Dad attended the ISA Charity Basketball Game at Foothill College. This event marked the 10th year that ISA (International Secret Agents) celebrated
culture, community, and memories. This year's game benefited Asian Americans for Community Involvement and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The players consisted of young Asian American entrepeneurs, singers, actors, comedians, and YouTubers. When this game was first announced actor Simu Liu was supposed to participate, but a few weeks
prior to the event he had to bow out for work related reasons. Luckily, there were plenty of other celebrities to cheer such as Hudson Yang (Fresh Off the Boat) and
Philip Wang (Wong Fu Productions and Bopomofo Cafe).
Doors opened at 6:00pm, but we got there about 4:30 to make sure we got a good parking space and could get in line (seats were first come first serve). There was a food truck by the gym and Bopomofo Cafe
was to have a pop-up selling boba. Both Jordyn and Connor were more interested in having boba than standing in line for seats so we stood in line for boba instead. Bopomofo was late setting up so we
didn't get our drinks until after 6:00pm when they had already opened the doors and started admitting people. By the time we got into the gym we had to find seats way up at the top of the bleachers.
Luckily they were at mid-court so we could pretty much see everything. In the end, the boba was really good (seriously, get the matcha and guava), the game was really fun, and we had a great time watching
a bunch of Asian American 20 and 30 year olds playing basketball for great causes.
