Jordyn's 21st Birthday
Happy Birthday Jordyn!
This could have been an incredibly explosive birthday for Jordyn as she turned 21 this year. Unfortunately, her birthday fell right in the
midst of the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak. Instead of partying with all her friends down in L.A. at school, she was stuck at home sheltering in place. Despite the disappointment of not physically being
with her friends, they found a way to make sure Jordyn wasn't forgotten on her special day. Days before her birthday, Dad received a text from her good friend Serena. She and a bunch of other classmates
down in So Cal got together and bought boba for Jordyn and the family. They used a service called Postmates Food Delivery and purchased boba from Tea Era in Cupertino near Homestead High School. Serena
cleared it with Dad first to make sure someone would be home to receive delivery. Finally, around 1:30pm on Jordyn's birthday 5 bobas arrived for the family to help celebrate! There was a Passionfruit,
two Lychee, and a couple of Milk Tea (one with Pearl and one without). A little before that, however, Uncle Craig stopped by to drop off a small Swiss Roll Milk Cake and Jordyn's first official alcoholic
beverage, a Peach Jelly Shot Sake from the Hamasaki's! Then out of the blue, Pia, another of Jordyn's good friends and a co-worker from school, texted Dad and said she and a bunch of other co-workers from
Studio6 are Postmating some desserts for Jordyn's birthday! Just before 5:00pm a delivery person dropped off 4 huge slices of pie from Marie Callender's. There was apple, lemon, chocolate, and banana!
That wasn't it though. Around 6:00pm, the Shinkawa ohana walked over from their house to drop off goodies for Jordyn as well. They gave her an Amazon gift card, some ice cream (Drumsticks), and a bunch of
"adult beverages" (beginning to see a theme here). To top it all off they sang Happy Birthday. For her special birthday dinner Jordyn requested Chicken Pad See-ew from the Old Siam Restaurant on El Camino
Real. Everyone really enjoyed that since we hadn't been there in a really long time. Of course, she also received birthday calls from the grandparents, Uncle Derek, and tons of birthday wishes on social
media. As her birthday cake she got a Baskin Robbins Oreo Cookies and Cream Polar Pizza. This is quickly becoming one of our favorite desserts of all time. Yeah, this might not have been the birthday
celebration she was expecting, but with all the friends and family who went out of their way to help celebrate, this surely was the most heart-warming and memorable.

Jordyn's 21st birthday fell on a Thursday while she was technically still in school. Finals were just a few weeks away after which she would
be free and clear to do what ever she pleased. Mom figured that would be a good time to introduce Jordyn to some "adult beverages". First would be the "Pub" where Jordyn could try something called beer
and sake (5/15/20). Second on the agenda was the "Brewery" where she could sample flavored hard lemonade (5/16/20), and lastly, there was the "Wine Bar" (5/20/20).

The next night we had sliders for dinner. It was the perfect meal for eating at the "Brewery".

The final stop on Jordyn's bar hopping odyssey was the "Wine Bar" where she had her first white wine.
Gonna try a white.
