This trip to Disneyland and California Adventure was the first family vacation we had taken together in nearly a year and a half. Originally, this summer was to be our big vacation to Hawaii to
celebrate both Jordyn and Tyler graduating from college and high school respectively. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic put those plans on hold. Despite this set back we wanted to do something
before Jordyn started work at Amazon and Tyler headed to Cal State Fullerton for college. During the pandemic shut-down Disneyland completed its construction of the Avengers Campus in California
Adventure. We all wanted to visit the new attraction and ride Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, so when COVID cases appeared to be on the decline and the state of California began to reopen we made
reservations to visit.

Disneyland, in an effort to monitor the amount of people in its parks, required all prospective visitors to make reservations. After a reservation was made tickets could then be purchased for those
dates. We found a weekend we could get reservations and bought Park Hopper tickets that allowed us to visit both parks on the same day. Since Rise of the Resistance (Star Wars - Disneyland) and Web
Slingers (Marvel - California Adventure) were the two big rides everyone wanted to ride, Disneyland created virtual queues (only accessible on the Disneyland app) to prevent visitors from having to stand
in endless lines in close proximity to others. Virtual queues opened at 7:00am and again at 12:00pm. Since we had Park Hopper tickets, this gave us the opportunity to ride one of the two big rides in
the morning and the other in the afternoon. On our first day, unfortunately, we didn't have all our tickets on all our Disneyland apps. Each person had their own ticket on their app, but not the other
4. This was a necessity if we wanted to ride together. After realizing our error, Tyler ended up riding Rise of the Resistance in the morning by himself while the rest of us rode it in the afternoon.
After that we were quick to add each other's tickets to our individual apps so we could all ride together in the future.

Now that we figured out the Disneyland app, we were ready, bright and early, at 7:00am to get into the virtual queue for Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure in California Adventure and then,
hopefully, get in the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance at noon. Our hotel had complimentary breakfast so Mom went downstairs and brought food back for everyone to eat in the room. When 7:00am
rolled around everyone was on their phones trying to get into the virtual queue for Web Slingers. It came as a great relief when Tyler got us in for what looked to be about 10:15am.

Our last day at Disneyland started with breakfast at the hotel. This time we ate downstairs with many other guests who were visiting the parks. Just like the previous day we waited anxiously for
7:00am to roll around when we all used our phones to see if we could get into the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance. Man, we must have been getting good at this because Tyler got us into Group 6!
According to the app we would be one of the first groups on the ride! What was funny was everyone eating downstairs with us was also trying to get into virtual queues. When 7:00am hit everyone
cheered because they all got in too!
