Deb's birthday fell on a Thursday this year. We decided we would eat at Il Fornaio in Mountain View that opened up about a month ago. After that we would head home to have birthday cake and open presents.
Of course, she received candy and flowers, but this birthday also had a distinct Christmas feel to it. Luann got Deb an orchid. Sharon got her all kinds of card making material plus a brush to help clean her
shoes after hiking. Craig and Betty got her a really good strawberry birthday cake from Paris Baguette, while Pauline got the always delicious birthday guava cake from Sugar Butter Flour. It didn't stop there
though. Pauline also found what could be considered the perfect gifts for Deb. She got her a Hallmark Christmas Movie t-shirt and hoodie! We can already see Deb in front of the TV wearing both of them binging
on Hallmark Christmas Movies. The big gift though came from the kids. They struggled to find something for Deb. At first they thought about getting a papasan chair for Deb's new workspace (Jordyn's old room).
Unfortunately, they couldn't find anything that Deb wouldn't ultimately return later. Finally, they settled on a Christmas tree (Tyler chose it) that Deb could keep up all year in her office. They even set it
up with one of those smart plugs so she can use her phone to turn the lights on and off.
