Tyler's Tri-City basketball team this year is comprised solely of 6th Graders. It's the first time these players have all been together since the 3rd Grade. With 11 players, this team has a deep bench. Everyone is looking forward to a great season!

2014-2015 Basketball!

The weekend of Saturday, November 8, 2014, CYS hosted their annual pre-season tournament in San Jose. 6th Grade teams, this year, played at Willow Glen High School. In Tyler's first game against Taisho Black (SF), he made two free throws after being fouled taking a shot from the left side baseline. Tri-City won that game 30-25. The second game was against a much taller and athletic team from JYO (San Mateo). After falling behind early, Tyler scored the first 4 points for Tri-City. In the end, Tri-City beat JYO 39-36.

Tyler's (and Tri-City's) first two of the game.

Tyler's second two off the glass.

The weekend after the CYS Tournament, Tri-City held it's own Jamboree at Wilcox HS in Santa Clara. Tyler's team only played two games. They won their first against PAYS (Palo Alto) on a buzzer beating 3-pointer from teammate Matthew. Unfortunately, they lost their second game to Taisho White (SF).

Tyler makes a bucket on a nice pass on a well designed play.

Check out some videos of me making baskets during the season.

Here's a nice shot vs. JYO-1 (1/11/15).

3 points from top of the key (2/15/15 vs. CYS 2)!

Here's an even farther 3-pointer (2/15/15 vs. CYS 2)!

The final shot of the regular season for Tri-City (a 3-pointer no less)
was made by Tyler (3/1/15 vs. PAYS)!

To close out the 2014-2015 season, Tyler's team traveled to Sacramento to participate in the annual Betsuin Tournament. After winning their first two games on Saturday, the Tri-City D-Nationals played in the Championship game on Sunday. After falling behind early in Sunday's game they fought back. Unfortunately, they came up one point short. Still, it was a thrilling come back and everyone could see how much this team has grown since the beginning of the season. While it might not have been the storybook ending everyone would have liked, it was still an incredibly successful season.

A little stutter step to get two against the Dragons of San Francisco (3/7/15).

Getting it done on defense too (3/7/15).

Here's a three off the inbound pass against CYS (3/7/15).

Taking it coast to coast (3/7/15).
